Music Ministry

Meet the Asbury Music Makers

The Alleluia Choir        
This choir is for children in Kindergarten through 2nd grade.  The choir rehearses on Wednesdays at 4:15 pm in the McCoy Room.  The choir is led by Jennifer Wood.

The Junior Choir
The Junior Choir is for singers in 3rd through 8th grades.  Rehearsal is on Wednesday afternoons from 4:15-5:15 in the Great Room.  The choir sings for worship services every five to six weeks.  The choir also sings at the 5:30 Christmas Eve and the Easter Vigil services.  In the Spring, the choir presents a musical during the morning worship service. The choir is directed by Jan Swanson.

The Teen Choir    
Our Teen Choir is for singers in 8th through 12th grades. Rehearsal is on Wednesday evenings from 5:30 –6:00p.m.  The choir sings for worship services once a month, as well as for the 5:30 Christmas Eve service, the Good Friday evening service, and the Easter Sunday Sunrise Service.  The choir is directed by Jan Swanson.

The Adult Choir  
Our Adult Choir is for singers from high school to ????  (who can put a limit on a spirited singer?) Rehearsals are on Wednesdays from 7 – 8 pm and also on Sunday mornings from 9:30 – 10:25 am. The choir sings two anthems on most Sunday mornings, and it also sings for both Christmas Eve services at 5:30 and 11 pm, the Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday and Easter Vigil services.  From time to time special music is offered at Asbury Arts Series concerts.  The choir is directed by Jan Swanson.

The Asbury Bell Choir    
Asbury’s bell choir is for ringers from high school to adult who are music readers.  The choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 6 to 7 pm.  The choir plays for worship several times throughout the year, and always for the 5:30 Christmas Eve service and for Easter morning at 10:45.  The choir also participates in the Delaware Handbell Festival held at OWU’s Gray Chapel at 7 pm on the Sunday evening before Thanksgiving.  The choir is directed by Carol Brulotte.
