Asbury History Items Archived at Ohio Wesylan University

Asbury UMC history has been digitized
Ohio Wesleyan University Libraries received an LSTA Grant (Library Services and Technology Act) in 2008 to work in collaboration with the Delaware County Historical Society to create a digital story – the interrelated history of the city of Delaware, the Methodist Episcopal Church, and Ohio Wesleyan University.  The web site is called:

"Our Shared History: Delaware, Methodism, and Ohio Wesleyan University"

The web site was officially “launched” on January 21, 2010.
Photographs, published histories, postcards, manuscripts, and newspaper articles were culled from a variety of sources. For the most part, scanned images about Asbury UMC came from the collection of the Archives of Ohio United Methodism, located in the Special Collections Department at Beeghly Library. Permission to use the Asbury UMC images on the Our Shared History site was secured from Pastor Phil Wilden. We hope that the newly scanned material will supplement the wonderful text history already available on Asbury’s web site.
The web site can be found at HERE!.  Please feel free to bookmark this site on your personal computer. We are hoping that the UMC churches in town will also create a link on their web sites to Our Shared History, so that visitors to their sites will have access to it.
